RHS Rosemoor Gardens at Torrington will be hosting a special 'Grow Your Own' open day next month, featuring a dedicated 'Chef's Corner'.
The Chef's Corner has been organised by Torridge District Council. It hopes the event will have great benefits for local businesses and tourism in the area, and aims to draw out the talented chefs working in the area, giving them local celebrity status.
There will be cookery demonstrations using fresh fruit and vegetables to demonstrate what residents can achieve at home with locally grown ingredients.
The theme of the project is promotion of healthy eating, eating on a budget and sourcing food locally.
Chefs John Emms of Lathwells Restaurant, Brian Steele of Yeoldon House Hotel, Paul and Steve Reah of Thatchers at Woodford Bridge and Rosemoor's own chef, Jamie Allen, will be taking the cookery demonstrations in the marquee at Rosemoor. The 2.30pm session will be specifically aimed at children.
Grow Your Own day takes place on March 7.
