A GROUP of singers from Wren Music have just returned from Madrid having performed with choirs from five other countries as part of an exciting musical project.

Wren Music is involved in the Traditional European Songs Singing Together (TESST) project, where groups of singers from Romania, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany and England visit each other's countries to learn and teach each other traditional songs from across Europe. Members of Wren Music's Devon choirs have visited Romania, Italy and Spain.

Last weekend the Spanish host choir treated the visitors to a trip to the mountains to visit a monastery and enjoyed a surprise performance by a flamenco troupe.

Plans are now being made to bring the finale event to Okehampton in 2013, with a concert to be held at the culmination of the cultural exchange.
