REHEARSALS have been taking place for performances of a 100-year-old oratorio at two churches over Easter.

The choir of St Andrew's Church, Sampford Courtenay (right) will be performing The Passion of Christ, by Sir Arthur Somervell, together with the choir of St Michael's, Chagford, at St Andrew's Church on Palm Sunday, March 24, at 7.30pm and at St Michael the Archangel, Chagford, on Good Friday, March 29 at 6pm.

The oratorio will be directed by Roger Cleverdon, with Christine Cleverdon at the organ. The soloists will be Louise Mott, mezzo-soprano, Gordon Pullin, tenor and Julian Rippon, baritone.
