A COUPLE from Monkokehampton are appealing for their beloved car to be returned after it was stolen on November 11.
Somewhere between midnight and 6.30am Andy and Laura Harvey had their Mk1 Ford Escort stolen from outside their family home in the village.
Laura has started a campaign on Facebook and social media to see if the car can be recovered.
Laura said: ‘The car is not currently running so would have been loaded onto some kind of vehicle or trailor to move it. The car is a classic and worth a lot of money with the right care and attention. Re-restoration was due to start soon by my husband, so it wasn’t in its former glory.
‘This is a rare car, painted in a unique colour of blue, so should be easy to spot. Andy bought the car in 1994 as a project to work on with his dad. They poured their heart and soul into the car and it is of great sentimental value.
‘Together they spent a lot of time and money on it. His dad passed away five years ago and so we are desperate to see the car returned.
‘We are devastated that this was taken from right outside our house with us and our two small children asleep inside. The dream was to share the same quality time on the car with our son in years to come.’
The car has the registration plate CTT 894L.
If you have any information contact the police on 101 with crime reference CR078045/15.
