A?PUBLISHING company that has an office in Okehampton was on the rostrum at a recent award eremony.

Clickety Books, which also has an office in Penryn, won coveted gold and silver medals at the Practical Pre-School and Primary Teacher Update Awards.

Clickety Books won the gold medal in the Practical Pre-School category, and the silver in the Primary Teacher Update category.

The books came with CDs narrated by Rik Mayall and Catherine Tate respectively.

Matt Govett, managing director of Mark Allen Publishing group said: 'After months of testing and evaluating the results, the winners of the Practical Pre-School and Primary Teacher Update Awards have been announced.

'With a huge number of entries from over 100 different companies, the awards are one of the most respected and coveted in the entire toy and education sectors. Tested by childcare professionals, the results are viewed as a measure of what's good and what's not in a field that is swamped with choice.'

Clickety Books offer an effective and engaging way to develop a child's speech, language and early literacy skills.

The 18 stories offer plenty of laughter and fun, first and foremost, something that keeps a child entertained as well as stimulated.

The books are written by Craig Green and Dominic Vince and Illustrated by Sarah-Leigh Wills. Much of the recording work was undertaken by dBs Music studios in Plymouth.
