ON Saturday in beautiful sunny conditions at Okehampton Golf Club a large field competed in a four ball better ball Stableford competition.

Winners of division one with 43 points were Lewis Parry and Will Searle, in second place were Barry Down and Rob Camies, third were Chris Pike and Richard McFarlane with 42.

Division two winners were Nick Godfrey and Phil Hawking with 42pts, in second place were Richard Prouse and Brian Fishleigh with 41 on the back nine from John Haley and Peter Kiss in third with 40 points.

Okehampton ladies took part in the second round of the Daily Mail Foursomes, which was played at Dawlish Warren GC. Oke's representatives, Marcia Jones and Gladys Thatcher had a comprehensive eight hole win, and will progress to the third round later in the year.

Twenty ladies competed at Okehampton Golf Club in the Coronation Foursomes competition. Cherry James and Doris Jewell won with 35 points and go on to represent the club in the regional final at Lyme Regis GC in July.

A large field also competed in a three ball team competition.

Winners of division one with 78 points were Gareth Holt, Bob Jones and Alan Mann. In second place were Alan and Marcia Jones and Bill Swainson with 77 on the back nine from Dan Prosser, Jerry Lock and Rod Milsom-Smith in third place. Winners of division two with the highest score on the day were Phil Hobbs, John Gillard and Nick Hobbs with 85pts. In second place were Steve Penna, Dave Lawson and Alan Lawson with 81; in third place with 79 were Ron Copeland, Graham Harding and Will Kinkead.
