A SPECIALIST learning disability music project from Exeter will be running a week of music-based activities in Okehampton throughout the week of half term.
Soundwaves will run in the Ockment Centre from October 28 to November 1 for people with learning difficulties aged 12 to 25.
There will be a morning group and an afternoon group, with the idea being that the morning group is aimed at those aged 12 to 16 and afternoon group 17 to 25.
The morning sessions will run from 10am to 12.30pm and the afternoon sessions will be from 2pm to 4.30pm.
The aim will be to do a variety of music-based activities from singing, dancing and playing instruments to songwrting, recording and making a CD.
This project will be free to all participants and will include refreshments.
There will be 12 places in each group with additional places for carers and enablers.
