EASTER Sunday worship in the Methodist Church was led by the Rev John Peak. The sacrament of the Lord's Supper was also celebrated.

THE Women's Guild and Fellowship met in the Methodist hall for their Easter meeting. Miss Branda Curtis welcomed everyone, also playing for the hymns. Mrs Ruth Colber led prayers and Mrs Betty Dibben read the story of Mary Megdelene meeting Jesus in the garden on the first Easter morning.

The meeting continued with each member choosing a hymn or giving a reading.

The afternoon concluded with tea served by Mrs Audrey Vincent and Mrs Patsy Reddaway.

The next meeting will be in the churchroom on April 21 and will take the form of a quiz. All welcome.

ON Tuesday of Holy Week, members of the mid-week church met for an Agape meal in the Methodist Hall. Following the Lent course the mid-week church resumes for Bible study on April 20, at 7.45pm.

The evenings of study, prayer and praise will conclude with tea and all are welcome.

THE mobile library comes to Northlew Square each fortnight and is due today (Thursday), books to suit all, including large print, are available as well as videos etc. A service worth knowing about, especially if you have just come to live in the village.

MORNING payer at the parish church, was conducted by Mrs Ingrid Dodd and organist was Andrew Kristy. Char baker was duty sidesman and lessons were read by Mrs P Stratton and Mrs T Haycocks.Evening prayer was conducted by P Durston, the lesson being read by Mrs Stratton.

Last week an energetic gang of polishers spent an afternoon giving the church its spring clean. many thanks to go the ladies and gentleman, the old place looks lovely and the ancient woodwork is grateful for the polish!
