THE gates of a garden in Northlew will be thrown open on May 5 to raise money for St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth.

The garden at Rose Cottage on Crowden Road will be open from 2pm to 5pm for the public to visit.

Last year the hospice celebrated its 30th anniversary. St Luke's cares for terminally ill patients 24 hours a day, and has grown from a small, seven-bed unit in Plymstock to a purpose built 20-bed inpatient unit at Turnchapel, with a day hospice at Pearn.

Admission to the garden at Rose Cottage costs £4, children under 16 enter free. Refreshments are available and well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
