FIRE crews were called to tackle a bonfire that was out of control and spreading to a building in Stockley, near Okehampton on Saturday evening.
Two crews from Okehampton and one from North Tawton attended the incident just before 7pm.
The bonfire had spread to a detached single storey wooden shed measuring nine metres by three metres. Fifty per cent of the shed and contents were severely damaged by the fire.
The blaze was put out by crews using four breathing apparatus sets and two hose reel jets with water from a street hydrant approximately a quarter of a mile away. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
