ONE-to-one consultations, workshops and expert advice are just a few of the things being offered at an event organised by the Business Information Point (BIP) on Thursday September 10.

The event is being staged at the new Okehampton Business Centre and is aimed at offering help, support and training to local businesses — all in one day and in one location.

Advisors from Business Link and the BIP will be available for one-to-one consultations, along with representatives from West Devon Borough Council, the Food and Drink Network, the Dartmoor Partnership, Devon Renaissance, Greater Dartmoor LEAF and many other organisations.

A workshop to promote the Women in Work training fund, with speakers including Lyndsay Bryd from Lantra's Women in Work project, will take place between 10.30am and noon.

This will be followed by a talk on effective selling for tourism businesses, with speakers Simon Treggoning and Jacqui Guilliford from Classic Cottages.

The event is being run from 9am until 5pm, and business are also invited to take the opportunity to drop in and tour the award-winning building at the new Okehampton Business Centre, with its various renewable and energy saving features.
