ON the morning of Sunday, September 14, I counted over 100 people — cyclists, walkers, runners, one wheelchair user (and evidence of a horse), using the Granite Way, in one hour. Today, (Tuesday, September 16) I talked to 20 wheelchair users with ten walkers using the Granite Way as part of their wheelchair ramblers holiday. It is impossible to imagine either of these events with express trains thundering past. Please, let us not lose what we have in trying to resurrect what has gone or for theoretical monetary gain.
