CHILDREN at Okehampton School enjoyed a science lesson like never before after a visit from Dr Roy Lowry.

Dr Lowry is a senior lecturer in physical chemistry and university teaching fellow at the University of Plymouth.

He gave a special 'pyromania' lecture to key stage 2 pupils using gunpowder, liquid oxygen and coloured flames.

Dr Lowry visits schools across Devon and Cornwall to deliver his lectures and increase an interest in science in children.
