THE Ockment Centre is working on a series of drop-in 'Conversation Café' sessions for people to drop in and meet with others, finding out about organisations, services and groups in the area. The centre is holding four pilot sessions, open to everyone. The first Conversation Café on Thursday, July 10 will have the theme 'Information and Advice'. There will be a chance to chat with representatives from West Devon Advice, Ring and Ride and West Devon Borough Council Connected Communities and to find out what other organisations have to offer. Visitors can also get some help to access online information and advice, or just come along of a cup of tea or coffee and browse the archive pictures of the Ockment Centre. Anyone who attended the school in the building before it became a community centre is welcome to come and share their memories of the building. The second session on July 17 will have a focus on healthy living. Arts and social groups will be the focus of the café on July 23, with a tea tasting experience and botanical art demonstration. The final pilot session on July 28 has the theme of lifelong learning.
