FUNDRAISING for new windows in the Ockment Centre hall is going well, and should receive a further boost this April with an Easter fair.

The centre's hall will host the fair on April 12, with a variety of stalls selling crafts and second hand items, Easter gifts, an Easter prize draw and an Easter picture competition for children, with winners being picked at the fair.

Visitors can also enjoy refreshments including bacon baps, biscuits, tea and coffee.

A craft fair held at the centre on March 1 raised more than £250 towards the fund, and the event was well supported with numerous stalls and plenty of visitors.

The centre had a huge boost with a £2,000 grant from the Bearnard Sunley Charitable Foundation, meaning that with nearly £2,600 raised the centre had now got over a third of the way to its fundraising target.

The hall is used by a variety of groups including Get Changed Theatre Company, FOOTSteps School of Dance, Okehampton U3A and many more.

It is also hired out for conferences, meetings, coffee mornings and family celebrations. New windows will keep the hall warmer and make it more cost efficient.
