THE Okehampton supporter group for Exeter Leukaemia Fund has a busy few months ahead with a series of events in July and August.
The events follow on from a quiz night at the Crossways Inn in Folly Gate in May, which raised £338, and the annual clay shoot at Burden Farm which took place.
John Barton, chair of the Okehampton Supporter Group, said: 'In this, our second year of activity, we have even more proposed functions and events to appeal to our sponsors.'
The group's next event is the ELF Fun dog Show, which takes place on Saturday July 16 at Burden Farm in Broadbury.
It starts with dog jumping at 11am, entries from 10am. There are three age classes for people showing their dogs, and the return of the jumping challenge, where fences are raised to 2ft and 3ins. New for this year is the pairs relay, which is hoped to spice up the competition.
At 1pm, the family fun dog show begins, with entries from 11am. Open to all, there are 16 classes with three new ones — best trick, friendliest dog and most unenthusiastic dog.
Each winner will receive a photograph portrait taken by Farlap Photography. These classes will be judged by Bryony Herrod-Taylor, of North Park Vets.
For further information on the dog show, call 01837 871799 or 07970 540167. To have a stand at the event (with the cost being a donation to ELF) call John on 01837 871263.
The group will also be at Okehampton and Chagford Shows on August 11 and 18. They will be selling tickets for the ELF summer draw at the shows, with the main draw prize a brand new Fiat 500 car.
Finally, the group will be at the beer festival at Crossways Inn in Folly Gate over the August bank holiday weekend, August 27-29.
