A NURSING home in Okehampton is pulling out all the stops to make a tea party in aid of the Alzheimer's Society a huge success. Aalen House Nursing Home, at 12 Parklands, will be hosting the Shackleton's Tea Party today (Thursday) at 11am. Furniture specialist Shackletons decided to help raise awareness of dementia as up to two thirds of people in England are never diagnosed as they do not recognise the symptoms. Shackletons has teamed up with the society during 'Dementia Awareness Week', which started on Sunday and ends on July 13. Across the nation, care homes will be joining forces for the party where they will encourage everyone to enjoy a cup of tea and a chat.
