A CURRY dinner and a talk by a TV presenter and a renowned explorer will be staged at Castle Drogo on Friday, November 27.
'Fire and Ice' will see the dinner cooked in the new restaurant at the National Trust property by its new chef.
Afterwards, people will be able to meet and hear from renowned animal sculptor Mark Coreth as he sculpts a polar bear, listen to Animal Planet's Nick Baker and hear about Pen Haddow's latest Arctic expedition.
Everyone who attends will also be able to have a chance to win some great prizes and bid for one of Mark's sculptures.
The event has been organised courtesy of the National Trust in association with the Ice Bear Project and WWF-UK.
All proceeds will go towards the London Ice Bear, an extraordinary life-sized ice sculpture of a polar bear with a bronze skeleton, to be exhibited in Trafalgar Square from December 11 in order to focus attention on the Arctic, under threat from global warming.
The event is being held from 7pm to 11pm.
Tickets cost £22.50 per person. Booking is essential. Tickets are available from [email protected]">[email protected] or from The Courtyard in Chagford.
