ENJOY a walk with a Dartmoor ecologist through some of the national park’s most spectacular haymeadows.

Saturday, July 2 is National Haymeadows’ Day and to celebrate this wonderful habitat Dartmoor National Park is working with haymeadow owners to give people the chance to visit, enjoy and learn about the wildlife and heritage importance of traditional flower-rich meadows and why they are worth protecting.

Join Chrissy Mason, Moor than Meets the Eye community ecologist, on a guided walk around Brimpts Farm’s spectacular award winning haymeadows and see greater butterfy orchids in flower. This two hour walk is free of charge and takes place on Tuesday, July 5. There is also the option of a cream tea after the walk at Brimpts Farm (please book cream teas in advance). Although the walk itself is free, it is essential to book your place as numbers are limited.

The walk will take place from 1pm to 3pm. Meet at the Brimpts Farm near Dartmeet, PL20 6SG.
