THE?flavour of Scotland came to All Saints Church on January 21 as the Friends of All Saints held a successful Burns' Night supper.

More than 60 people turned out in tartan for the event, enjoying the traditional welcome and Selkirk Grace, and dishes full of warm haggis, potatoes, fruit crumble and Cranachan desserts.

The room was decorated with tartan and as well as the food, guests got to enjoy a series of humourous toasts and speeches, including the address to the haggis.

To top the evening off, piper Andy Buchanan took to the bagpipes in full regalia and performed some quintessential Scottish music.

The evening raised £570 which will be put toward maintaining the fabric of the church. All Saints Church expressed thanks to all the volunteers and helpers who ensured the evening ran smoothly, to everyone who attended, to Jean and Andy Buchanan, and to Waitrose for providing the Macsween haggis for the evening.
