A ROCK band comprised of young people from Okehampton is set to release its first EP.

DownFall, made up of Karl Little, Nathan Bostock and Jake and Mack Hodgson, spent a weekend in Sound Garden Studios in Exeter, and recorded the EP 'Filthy Rich and Dirty Minded'.

It caps a good year for the band, which reached the final of the Okehampton Battle of the Bands and will play the Chagstock festival in 2014.

The band puts a modern twist on an old school rock sound, with thumping bass lines, break-downs, hard driving drums and clean vocals.

With an appeal for fans of both classic and modern rock, DownFall count Alterbridge, Revoker, Guns 'n' Roses and Mötley Crüe amongst its main influences.

The band will be supporting the Rock 'n' Roll Outlaws at the London Inn on December 27, and on New Years' Eve they will perform at Plymouth's White Rabbit with Slipknot tribute act Knotslip.
