A COURSE exploring the Christian faith is due to start in Okehampton in the next few weeks.

The Rev Mike Davies from the Inspiration Church will be running the Alpha Course, which seeks to explore the basics of the Christian faith, described by organisers as 'an opportunity to explore the meaning of life'.

The course is organised as a series of sessions over ten weeks, typically preceded by an 'Alpha Supper'. Each session starts with a meal followed by a talk, and then discussion in small groups. Attendees are issued with the Alpha Course Manual, which contains an outline of each talk and space for notes.

Mr Davies said: 'The course is basically aimed at those wanting to know something about the Christian faith. There is no obligation to say anything. You can just come and listen if you want to. The course is free, which includes a meal beforehand.'
