OKEHAMPTON has had its status as a Fairtrade Town renewed for another two years.
The town's Fairtrade Steering Group has been celebrating after securing the status for another two years.
The group works hard to promote the Fairtrade initiative around the town, including during Fairtrade Fortnight at the end of Februry, and Edwardian Evening, when they serve hot chocolate and refreshments at Okehampton Baptist Church.
Kate Thompson from the steering group said: 'We are very pleased with the knowledge that people in the town have about Fairtrade.
'A few years ago people didn't know much about the initiative, but now they seem to know a lot more and be aware of it.'
The group is looking for more members. To get involved call 01837 82537.
