THE combined efforts of a local family has raised an impressive £4,588 for charity.

The Littlejohns family have been raising money over the past few months for the Christie Cancer Appeal fund, based in Manchester. They raised the money with a Valentine's dance at Meldon Village Hall, and Katie Littlejohns ran the Greater Manchester Marathon in three hours and 47 minutes.

The family expressed thanks to everyone who supported their efforts either by donating money, sponsoring Katie's run and attended the charity dance.
