HATHERLEIGH will be rocking it up family-style when it welcomes London's leading family rock group and Great Ormond Street Hospital's in-house radio band, The Tin Pan Annie, for an hour of fun-filled, music and sing-along.
The entertainment will be on Friday April 17 from 3pm, with doors opening at 2.30pm, at the Hatherleigh Community Centre.
Hatherleigh Youth Club is having a 'rough time' at the moment and is eager to find more support in the community, said youth worker Brian Palmer.
He added: 'We have a lot of members and some great kids, who we have been working with for so many years.
'We would like it if the general community could get more involved with us.
'We would welcome anyone who wanted to come down and have a look around to see all the good which we do.
'Over the years we have won many awards and it would just be so great if the community could get behind us and support us more.'
The youth club had to close for six weeks before Christmas and is now only able to provide one night per week of activities for eleven to 18-year-olds
It has a membership of 150 and up to 50 young people attend the weekly sessions.
The Tin Pan Annie band have offered to do a free concert to help raise money to keep the youth club open and it will be their first gig in Devon.
The content of the show is well known classic children's songs (The Wheels on the Bus etc) and lots of audience participation, silly props and musical instruments.
The event is suitable for all ages, from babies to grandparents, and all proceeds will go to the volunteer-run Hatherleigh Youth Club.
There will also be a 'live and loud' evening for ages ten and over, when families are encouraged to come along and enjoy the live music from 7pm to 11pm.
Tickets are available on the door and cost £5 per seat, £18 for a family and free for under three year olds who are sitting on an adults' knee.
