A WARM-UP event for this year's Chagford Film Festival saw organisers show their support for neurosurgery at Derriford Hospital.
The event welcomed Tony Hawks to Chagford to show his film 'Round Ireland with a Fridge', followed by a question and answer session.
The fun-filled evening, being held in aid of festival funds, also included Irish music. Mr Hawks now has a strong connection with the festival, having opened the 2013 festival by introducing his film Playing the Moldovans at Tennis.
At the event, festival organisers took the time to present £603.90 to the Cavitron Fund with funds raised at the 2013 festival.
The fund was started in 1982 to support the Neurosurgical Department at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
The fund was started by Dev Mohan, consultant neurosurgeon at Derriford Hospital at that time, and by Mike Turner, who subsequently became the charity's chief executive.
Mr Turner attended the screening to collect a cheque from organisers.
The main objective of the fund is the relief and treatment of persons with brain or spinal cord tumours by the provision of facilities, equipment and health care not normally available from public funds.
More than £1,250,000 has been raised and spent since the charity's inception.
