ATTENTION garden lovers — Sunday June 19 is Village Gardens Open Day in South Zeal and South Tawton, and there will be lots to see and do throughout the day.
Fifteen gardens will be available to visit and enjoy, as well as an art exhibition, a lunchtime concert from Moor Harmony, a plant sale and ploughman's lunches, puddings and cream teas.
The gardens will be open from 10.30am to 6pm, and you can visit as many of the 15 gardens as you like for just £3. Programmes of the day's events will be available on the day in the Victory Hall in South Zeal or any of the gardens. Visitors are asked to use the South Zeal car park and leave dogs at home.
The open gardens day celebrates its twentieth birthday this year, and has become a firm favourite in the summer calendar. The event raises funds for the Victory Hall, and the sale of cream teas supports the Playing Field Association and South Tawton Church House.
