THE premiere of a film about Belstone's beating of the bounds was not just a good night for the Belstone Commoners, but the Devon Air Ambulance Trust too.

Around 75 people attended a wine and cheese evening on October 4, organised by the Belstone Commoners, which included the premiere of a film about this year's beating the bounds, the once-every-seven-years perambulation around the edge of the parish.

In the interval, a cheque for £801 was presented to Mike Date from the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. The money was raised from a raffle held at the supper after the bounds walk in June.

The money raised was given in memory of Tony Cooper, leader and flag-man of the walk since 1986, who died suddenly last year. The raffle was organised by Tony's nephew Sam Cooper, and Richard Norrish.
