FIREFIGHTERS were called to a chimney fire at a domestic property on Place Farm, Tavistock Road, Okehampton, last Thursday (March 27).

One crew from Okehampton attended just before 11am, and on arrival requested a further appliance from Okehampton. Firefighters used ladders and chimney gear to extinguish the fire.

Ambulance staff attended and helped an elderly man who was suffering with breathing difficulties.
