WOOD is needed to help build this year's set for Sticklepath Fireshow's production 'Bamboozled' on November 5.

The recession and a shortage of scrap second-hand building timber has led to this situation.

As it is a public event only certain types of wood can be used and the committee is looking for structural timber from 2ins by 1ins or bigger and at least 3ft long, the bigger the better, used scaffold planks, floorboards, ply and hardboard sheeting and shelving.

It cannot accept tanalised wood, pallets (until October), MDF (including laminated kitchen units), chipboard, windows with any glass still in them, anything with plastic as part of it, kindling-sized wood (until October), carpets, oil drums and garden waste.

Deliveries cannot be accepted without prior notification as the land is the property of the National Trust.
