FIRE crews were sent to tackle a fire at a property in Moretonhampstead on Sunday evening, following a call from a distressed occupant.

On arrival at the property in Court Street, the two appliances from Moretonhampstead and Chagford discovered there had been a fire involving an electrical consumer unit which was out before they got there.

The crews investigated the vicinity of the fire, using thermal imaging, making it safe, and gave first aid to an occupant suffering minor burns to their hands.

The cause was deemed accidental.
