THE Leawood Estate at Bridestowe is to throw open its gates for the first ever Leawoodstock, a night of live music in aid of two local cancer charities.

The festival on Saturday, July 29 is being held on the estate to raise money for FORCE in Exeter and Plymouth Oncology Outpatients and Chemotherapy (POOCH) in Plymouth.

Among the acts scheduled to perform are Georgia and the Tools, Jody Ford and Barry Vinnicombe, Bounty Hunter and Cameron Mills.

POOCH fundraiser Dave Hocking said: ‘This is a very exciting event for POOCH and FORCE as it’s the first event of its kind on the Leawood estate. A very talented group of musicians have been assembled and everyone has been very busy cleaning out the bullock shed for this to go ahead.

‘This event will give people the opportunity to come and see bands, have a good time and raise some money for two worthy charities.

‘Tickets are selling well and anyone who comes, I will be doing my hardest to ease money out of people’s back pockets!

‘The work that FORCE do in Exeter and POOCH do in Plymouth is wonderful. The Leafy Lanes walk earlier this year raised £2,800 and we always want to raise more.’

The event runs from 7pm until late and there will be a hog roast and bar. Free camping is available.
