BRATTON Clovelly will be firmly in the spotlight on Wednesday, July 2 when a special roadshow arrives, offering residents a host of help and advice — including free micro-chipping for dogs. It will be the first time the West Devon Connect road show has visited the village and locals won't want to miss out. Seven public sector and support service organisations will be at The School Room from 2 to 4 pm and people are encouraged to drop-in to find out more. West Devon Connect co-ordinator, Claire Wager, who will be at the event answering questions about council services, said: 'We are delighted to be making our first ever visit to Bratton Clovelly. 'There is a bumper host of information and advice on offer and we have thought carefully about which organisations take part so that the event is relevant to the local community and has something for everyone. West Devon Connect is an outreach service run by West Devon Borough Council and supported by a range of public sector and support services. The animal welfare charity Dogs Trust, will be at the road show offering free dog micro-chipping. The painless procedure usually costs around £20 and will be compulsory for dogs from 2016. The other organisations at the road show will be Okehampton Community Transport, Action on Hearing Loss, Oakhouse Foods which provides meals for people living independently, Call24 who are personal alarm specialists, Wessex Resolutions who can offer low cost loans for home improvements and debt advice and Encompass, the locally-based charity which tackles homelessness and poverty issues. Bratton Clovelly's local Police Community Support Officer will also be on hand to meet local people and discuss any issues.
