OKEHAMPTON residents are being asked to use their detective skills to identify old library images, as the 'Location, Location, Location Challenge' takes to the road.

The Westcountry Studies Library is bringing a number of old photographs to Okehampton Library for a month in the hope that people will be able to identify the images to help with archiving.

For the forth year running, the studies library in Exeter is asking people to help identify 50 mysterious, old images from its collection.

They have been donated to the library by Devon people and will be on display in Okehampton Library from December 14.

Organisers of the exhibition are delighted with the progress that has been made — many people have come forward to suggest where and when unidentified images could have been taken.

Around half of last year's mystery images were solved with the help of Devon's public. This year, the centrepiece is a photograph of a group of gentlemen in formal dress, stood on the steps of an impressive and distinctive looking building.

All 50 images have been on display at Exeter Central Library and at the Westcountry Studies Library during September and October. Only a selection of the full exhibition will be on display at Okehampton Library due to space constraints, but people are able to view all of this year's images online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/whereindevon">www.flickr.com/photos/whereindevon
