AUTUMN is well and truly here and the Forestry Commission has lots of fun events planned on its estate in West Devon to celebrate the season.
There will be fun with fungus at Fungus Forays in Abbeyford Woods near Okehampton on Saturday October 24.
People will be able to learn to identify fungi with an expert and find out what is edible and what is not in this beautiful mixed woodland.
There are two sessions. They take place at the same times but will be suitable for families with children aged six and over. All sessions cost £5 per person.
To celebrate the spooky season the family can enjoy Strange and Spooky storytelling events at Cookworthy Forest, near Holsworthy on Saturday October 31.
People are invited to get into the spooky spirit by dressing up and going to the Celtic roundhouse to hear some spine-tingling fireside tales for Hallowe'en. There will be two sessions, the first from 4pm to 5.30pm and the second from 6pm to 7.30pm. They are suitable for children aged six and over and cost £5 per person, which includes hot chocolate.
Booking is essential for all events by calling 01392 834233.
