THE League of Friends of, Okehampton Community Hospital is seeking more people to join its committee.

FOOCH, as an organisation, is not short of ideas of how to help the much valued community hospital and its staff but it is on the lookout for volunteers to play a vital and active role in its work.

It is appealing to people who can spare a little time to attend about half a dozen meetings a year. Members will also learn first-hand about equipment that could help the matron and staff increase the beneficial services they provide to patients — and often their relatives — and discuss and approve some spending.

A heartfelt interest in the work of a small local hospital and the devotion of a little time is what organisers are looking from its volunteers.
