THE RNIB'S Talking Book Service will benefit yet again thanks to a fundraiser in North Tawton.
The Fountain Inn will host a charity auction of donated items on December 16 at 8pm.
The auction is being organised by Mervyn Stoneman in memory of his mother, who was a keen supporter of the RNIB for a number of years.
Mervyn keeps up the tradition of a monthly raffle and the annual auction, with support from the staff and locals. Among the lots are rugby tickets and a tea-maker.
More than 50 new books for the RNIB Talking Library have been produced thanks to the people of North Tawton. The service is a lifeline for people with sight loss who cannot read normal print.
The library has more than 15,000 titles, with a diverse selection from children's books like the Gruffalo and Harry Potter, to Agatha Christie's crime novels.
The RNIB is always looking for volunteers to help out, from two hours to two days a week.
