RHS Rosemoor will host a packed schedule of events to get green-fingered people going during National Gardening Week.

From family-friendly planting, to inspiring the first steps towards a new career, there will be activities for gardeners of all ages and abilities to enjoy from April 15 to April 21.

Launched by the RHS in 2012, National Gardening Week brings together thousands of people across the country to help keep Britain beautiful by sharing and celebrating everything about gardens and gardening.

Throughout the week, RHS Garden Rosemoor will host talks and demonstrations on planting wildflowers, to help gardeners wanting to explore the current trend for growing wildflowers. Sales of wildflowers have increased by 60% in the past year.

On Thursday, April 18, there will be a special careers day to inspire local school pupils, and those considering a career change.

Celebrating the fact that gardeners are among those happiest in their careers, the day will bring together professionals from all areas of the horticultural industry, from florists to garden writers, to share their knowledge and experiences.

Over the weekend, families will be able to take part in 'sow and grow' activities where children of all ages can get their hands dirty and plant mini wildflower meadows.

The gardens will also play host to the RHS National Rhododendron Show during the weekend.

Normal garden admission applies for the events. For full details visit the website http://www.rhs.org.uk/rosemoor">www.rhs.org.uk/rosemoor or http://www.nationalgardeningweek.org.uk">www.nationalgardeningweek.org.uk
