THE gardens of South Tawton and South Zeal will be open next weekend to raise money for the Victory Hall.

A selection of private gardens will be open to the public for South Zeal Open Gardens Day on Sunday, June 16.

The day offers a great opportunity to see the creativity of local gardeners and get inspiration for your own garden.

With 14 gardens to visit, there will be a range of flowers, trees and clever gardening ideas to enjoy.

Programmes cost £3 for adults and gives access to all the open gardens. The event also features a plant sale, refreshments, an art exhibition and a concert from choir Moor Harmony.

The open gardens day has been part of the summer calendar in South Zeal since 1991 and is the main fundraising event for the Victory Hall. It also supports the village recreation ground and South Tawton Church House through the sale of cream teas.

The day runs from 10.30am to 6pm.
