PARKLANDS Leisure Centre is launching a new fitness class to boost the confidence of those currently struggling to find employment.

The 'Fit for Work' sessions at the centre start on January 31 in an effort to help people looking for work feel more confident and positive, both mentally and physically.

Jonathan Smith, contract manager at Parklands, said: 'The new Fit for Work sessions are great for people of all ages.

'Exercise and physical activity is known to produce endorphins, or feel good hormones, so these sessions are a great way to boost participants' self esteem while they look for work. The sessions are also a great way to meet new people and have fun in the community.'

The classes will run for eight weeks every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 7pm and on Friday mornings from 11am to noon, at a cost of £2.50 per session.

The sessions will be led by the centre's team of expert personal trainers and will include a great mix of circuit training activities, boot camp sessions and team events, all with the aim of creating a sense of teamwork.
