A RUNNING club for mothers and their babies starts next week.
Okehampton Running Bugs will meet on Fridays at the sports pavilions in Simmons Park at 10.30am. The group will offer mothers the chance to walk, jog, run and tone with their little ones. Sessions will involve power walking, jogging, fast jogging with squats, lunges, and arm dips. There may also be some floor exercises focusing on abdominal muscles.
The Bugs club has been organised by Okehampton Running Club. The first two sessions are free and then mothers must become members of the running club to take part.
Baby and mother must have had a six-week doctor's check-up to take part, and will need a buggy, exercise clothes, and a mat or picnic blanket for each session.
Mothers only have to do exercises they feel comfortable with, and if their baby needs changing or feeding, they can do this and rejoin the group in the park.
The first session will be at the sports pavilion at 10.30am on Friday, July 5. For more details call Katy Graves on 07816 022538.
