THE Just Living stall team will be giving people the chance to taste Fairtrade coffee this Saturday — and they say it's well worth it.
People can drop into St James' Chapel on Saturday May 21 where the team will be at the entrance, or if the weather is poor, inside the chapel.
There will be a chance to taste two fresh and two instant Fairtrade coffees, all of which are readily available in Okehampton.
The Rev David Muir said: 'Early instant Fairtrade coffees were often not very good because the emerging co-operatives that produced them did not have the same technology that the big companies had.
'This has put a lot of people off buying Fairtrade. But things have changed enormously since then, and there are really good Fairtrade options in coffee now.
'Our previous market appearances went well. We sold nearly one hundred Real Easter Eggs made from Fairtrade chocolate, which tells children the real story of Easter on the box.
'And at the last market in April, we also sold bake-your-own hot cross bun packs, which all sold out. We are also show-casing fairly-traded spices, to raise awareness of what is available.'
Just Living is an active group of people in the Okehampton area directed and inspired by Christianity, focused on ending the poverty people in the developing world live in by supporting those who need it to work and trade their way out of poverty.
