LOCAL author Paul Rendell will be signing copies of his new book 'Okehampton Through Time' at the town's Conservative Club on Tuesday June 14.

The book looks at the history of the town through an intriguing collection of old photographs. At the signing there will also be a display of archive material from the collection of local historians Mike and Hilary Wreford, and some vintage medical equipment. A collection of Paul's photographs will also be available to view.

Paul, who lives in Okehampton, has been fascinated by Dartmoor from a young age. His inquisitive mind as a child carried on into adulthood, where his continued enthusiasm for the moor's industrial archaeology and wildlife led him to leading guided walks and talks. He is a keen local historian and a committee member for the Okehampton and District branch of the Devonshire Association.

The event starts at 7.30pm, and everyone is welcome to come down and see an insight into Okehampton's rich and long history.
