PREPARATIONS are already taking place for a second charity golf day at Okehampton Golf Club, to help raise funds for a charity close to the hearts of Bea Holman-Brooks and her family.
Bea was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in January 2009, and recently finished her 28 months of gruelling treatment, including chemotherapy, lumbar punctures and taking other medicines.
She has lost her hair twice during her treatments, but is as determined as ever to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, a cancer and leukaemia charity for children.
Bea's mother, Helen Holman, said: 'The charity have cared for Bea throughout her treatment and have supported us as a family and this is our way of saying thank you and helping them to continue their hard work.'
The event last year, in which 35 teams played a round of golf, helped raise just under £20,000 for CLIC Sargent and Bea's Especially for You Fund.
The day concluded with an auction of sporting goods including a signed Manchester United football and Exeter Chiefs rugby ball.
This year's event will take place on July 8, and once again all proceeds will go to CLIC Sargent.
