RENDELLS Auctioneers' collective machinery sale at Chagford Market attracted a good crowd on February 15, despite the appalling weather.

Although a number of regular attendees from South Devon were missing, no doubt due to the closure of the A382 Moretonhampstead to Bovey Tracey road due to flooding, people still attended from far and wide. Unfortunately a number of vendors were also unable to attend due to the road conditions.

Amongst the leading prices were £1,850 for a Kubota 6200 4WD tractor, £1,250 for an Iseki TX1300 garden tractor, £300 for a Twose bush cutter, £760 for a Westwood T1600 ride on mower, £200 for a quantity of scaffolding, £105 for a Stihl 044 chainsaw.

Other items sold included a garden scythe for £170, a link box for £150, a small anvil for £90, a cement mixer for £70, a Stihl leafblower for £70, a garden tractor trailer for £55, and a garden rotovater for £80.
