OKEHAMPTON ladies tennis team had a superb end to their season, winning their final match 8-4 against Exeter Golf and Country Club B.

Okehampton were in fourth place prior to the match and needed seven points to ensure a third place finish in Division II of the Exeter and District League.

Both Okehampton pairs of Angela Herrod-Taylor and Joanna Thompson and Beth Carter and Jackie Jarvis played good attacking tennis to edge out a strong Exeter side as all four matches went to three sets.

The maximum eight points capped off a very successful season for the ladies, who won seven matches, drew two and lost five.
