FIREFIGHTERS were called to a lorry on fire in Bridge Street, Hatherleigh, on Sunday evening.

A crew from Hatherleigh and one from Okehampton attended the incident just after 9.30pm.

The crews found a small fire involving the brakes of a gritting lorry. The fire was extinguished by the use of a hosereel jet. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
