THE primary school grounds in Chagford had a spruce-up on October 27, as part of a busy day of activities at the school.
The school invited residents to a ground force and community apple pressing day. Volunteers worked on maintaining and improving the school grounds, while local people could bring apples along to be pressed and turned into apple juice.
The day was run in collaboration with GrowChagford.
The group supports the growing, production, preserving and eating of local food by the residents of Chagford to reduce dependency on supermarkets, and promote a healthy diet and ethical food production.
