A NEW community project could benefit from donations of your recycling and rubbish.
The team behind the Okehampton Community Garden is on the lookout for jam-jars, food tins and aluminum cans to help get the project off the ground.
The jam-jars will be used for home-made jams and preserves, made using fruit and produce grown in the garden. The tins and cans will be crushed and sold by the kilo to raise money for the project.
The garden site on Fatherford Road will provide a new green space for town residents from all walks of life to grow their own fruit and vegetables.
Other donations of seeds, gardening equipment, plant pots, and anything else that may be useful as the garden is set up will be welcomed.
Anyone wishing to make a donation, can drop it off at Upcott House on Upcott Hill.
