HEALTHWATCH Devon has published a report gathering the views of young people about the proposed development of a community wellbeing hub at the Moretonhampstead Community Hospital site.

Over the past year the hospital has been transformed into a health and social care hub. As well as providing outpatient services and a day surgery, such hubs provide access to activities and advice on how to stay healthy.

The report aims to ascertain young people’s priority health and social care needs and how the future delivery of the hub would ensure it is relevant to and valued by young people.

In the report, Healthwatch Devon found that mental health conditions such as depression and self harm were the most important health issues for older teens with sexual health also a high priority. In terms of their desires for the hub, a gym, skate park and ball pits were among the most popular ideas put forward for facilities the hub should have.
